MARION — Police responded to a reported robbery at the Road Ranger in the 900 block of Eighth Avenue at 2:25 a.m. Sunday. Officers say an employee reported a slender, black man wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, dark jeans and white shoes entered the store and demanded money. The man later ran out of the store without taking any money.

At 2:38, a second robbery was reported at the Kum and Go in the 1200 block of Blairs Ferry Road, according to a news release.

Police say the suspect in that robbery matches the description given from the incident at the Road Ranger. At the Kum and Go, police say the robber left with money and cigarettes.

No weapon was displayed during either robbery, but officers said both clerks told investigators he had a gun. There were no injuries in either incident.
