Chris Earl brought his dozen years of on-air experience to KCRG-TV9 in April 2008. Before moving to Eastern Iowa with his family, Chris spent three years as the evening news anchor at WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Originally from Missouri, Chris has worked at stations all throughout the Midwest. His first on-air job was at KSNT-TV in Topeka, Kansas, where Chris was a news and sports reporter, as well as a photographer and editor. In 1998, Chris moved to Eau Claire for his first stint at WEAU as the weekend sports anchor. Five years as the sports director at KDLH-TV in Duluth, Minnesota followed before Chris returned to Eau Claire as a news anchor. Away from working in newsrooms, Chris is also an accomplished novelist. Each of his first two novels, Gotcha Down (2004) and The Interim (2006), earned reviewer praise and have been popular picks with public libraries, including here in Eastern Iowa. Chris likes to spend the precious moments when his kids are sleeping and the house is quiet working on his Midwest-based novels. Chris is a 1997 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife Erica have two young children. Chris anchors the KCRG-TV9 News at 6 & 10 on Saturdays, on Sunday he anchors the KCRG-TV9 News at 5:30 & 10.
